Growing the Co-op Movement: How to Facilitate a Co-op 101 Workshop

How do we talk to and teach people about cooperatives? In this “train the trainers“ style workshop, staff members from the Cooperative Development Institute will lead a discussion and participatory training about best practices for facilitating Co-op 101 Workshops.

This session is ideal for both new and experienced cooperators who want to bring more people into the cooperative movement. CDI will share their process, content, and tools for facilitating introductory cooperative trainings, including a “Co-op 101 Workshop” slide deck and facilitation guide. Participants will share their own experience and expertise, and together will reflect on strategies for growing the cooperative movement through co-op education.

Ultimately, we will focus on the nitty-gritty of creating and facilitating co-op education content. Participants will leave with concrete tools and a deeper understanding of how to organize introductory cooperative trainings in their own communities.
