A Brighter Path: Onboarding with Gratitude Cultivates Inclusivity (Leadership/Management)
Long gone are the days when onboarding consisted solely of paperwork and introductions.
We view this as an opportunity to form deeper connections at the very beginning and set a tone of gratitude and appreciation. The goal is to have inclusivity and belonging built into the beginning of the onboarding process.
This session will provide a detailed outline of a 90+ day onboarding program:
• From day one, we establish a welcoming experience, enriched by covering the scope of our policies, what co-ops are, and best practices for health and well-being.
• Regular communication with transparency is a vital tool to build trust. Through check-ins, recognition and gratitude are emphasized to nurture these connections.
• An introduction to our psychological safety program, called HEARD (Here to Engage Accessible Respectful Dialogue). This emphasizes the type of workplace culture the co-op strives to maintain.
• Sexual harassment training promotes an inclusive awareness of how everyone can be affected by their intersectionality with regards to harassment. Discussions of pronouns and LGBTQIA2+ topics included.
• Discuss Unconscious Bias training and how that relates to our EBIA (Equity, Belonging, Inclusivity, Accessibility) commitment.
